I've been really into the idea of freshening up my bedroom lately, maybe it's because spring's right around the corner or maybe it's because I picked up some rad Parachute sheets...

Either way, it got me thinking about the unassuming essentials that we all need in our bedrooms

It's easy to overlook this part of the house. If we're crazy stay up until 1am workers, or hard working mama's, we're usually only concerned that it has a functioning bed. But, for real, it should really be the most important space in the house! Here are my 10 tips for sprucing up your bedroom, enjoy friends : )

Something White

Adding something white into your space, be it a wall, throw, light fixture or vase it instantly lightens + brightens!

Something Green

All too often we have no idea how much goodness we're missing without plants. A little goes a long way. Talk about cleansing!

I always give clients an anchor at the base of their bed. Think bench, pouf, or basket + it gives you another surface for throws!

Sometimes we forget to use calming art in the bedroom. Maybe florals put you to sleep, or a dreamy sea creature, like this one.

One of my faves! A hamper (with a lid) that is neutral + Scandinavian will never go out of style, I promise.

Something Parachute

Ok, I just bought my first set of Parachute sheets + I can't get out of bed! This will upgrade your space to luxurious in no time.

Something plush

Try a sheepskin or fluffy rug at your bedside, it's one of the best ways to wake up. Even with carpet, your feet will thank you!

Something Smelly Good

An essential oil diffuser can help cleanse the air + without a doubt helps destress me befor bed. I love this one from YL!

Something Bright

Getting the right light fixture in your room can be tricky. Pick a lamp for your bedside with a direct light. Overhead lighting is a must as well, preferably dimmable.
